Pickup Please collects donations on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America. The VVA in Denver plays an active role in supporting the lives of veterans, their families, and the community around them. Denver VVA Chapter 1071 holds meetings on the third Saturday of each month. The Chapter is working to support Coloradans who lost everything in the floods of fall 2013 through donation drives and community service. The Chapter also holds a community picnic every fall, and is sponsor to a number of local programs that serve vets and active service members, including the Support-a-Soldier program. Besides involvement in the local community, the Chapter also acts as a resource hub for soldiers and veterans, providing information on benefits, PTSD, and many other issues concerning veterans.
