How do I schedule a donation pick up?

Three easy ways to donate:

What areas of the country do you pick up donations in?

Our donation areas are determined by address. Please check the availability of donation pickup service in your area by scheduling a donation pickup online.

If you think we should pick up donations in your area, email us at info@pickupplease.org We’re adding new donation service areas all the time! We would appreciate your feedback!

What days and times do you pick up donations?

The day and time of your donation pickup depends on the route in your area. You can choose a donation pickup day when you schedule your donation pickup through our online scheduling system.

Sorry, we cannot schedule a specific donation time. Our trucks are on the road by 8:00am each day and continue working until their route is finished around 5:00pm.

Will I get a reminder call or email before my donation pickup?

A reminder call will be given the morning of the pick up. Also an email reminder will be sent the day before your pickup. An additional call can be made if specifically requested.

What if the weather is bad? Will you still pick up my donations? Should I still put my donations outside if it’s raining or snowing?

Our trucks pick up rain or shine. However, if the roads are hazardous, the local pick up service may contact you to reschedule your pickup.

What items do you accept for donations?

What condition should my donations be in?

We prefer to pick up items that are like new or gently used and are not in need of repair.

I have large items to donate. Can your driver help me carry it outside my home?

We only accept items that are small and light enough for one person to easily lift and carry. Our drivers are not allowed help due to liability reasons.

We prefer to pick up from the ground level outside your home, visible from the street, as the drivers are not allowed to enter private residences. We strongly prefer to have the donation outside the home in order to eliminate possible damage to property. A special request may be granted. Please contact 1-800-775-8387 for more information.

Do you pick up furniture donations?

We’re sorry but we cannot accept large furniture items. We only accept items that are small and light enough for one person to easily lift and carry.

No Furniture: Couches, sofas, sleeper couches, box springs, mattresses, desks, large dressers, heavy chairs, etc. cannot be accepted.

Do you pick up television donations?

We’re sorry but we cannot accept televisions at this time.

Where should I place my donated items? Do they need to be outside my home?

We pickup from the ground level outside your home, preferably visible from the street.

Drivers are not allowed to enter private residences. All donations must be left outside your home in bags or boxes, clearly marked “Donation Pickup”.

Do I have to be home during my donation pickup?

There is no need to be home during your donation pickup. Simply have the donations clearly marked “Donation Pickup” in a visible location outside your home and our driver will pick them up.

Is there a limit on how much I can donate at a time?

We request that you limit the amount of bags and boxes to 25 per pickup, additional pickups can always be scheduled.

Do you pick up in gated communities?

Typically, donors who live in a gated community are asked to either provide a visitors code for the driver or let the guard know ahead of time that we are coming on your scheduled date. Please call our Donor Service team at 1-800-775-8387, they will be able to notify the local driver of your request.

Do you pick up at apartment buildings?

We prefer to pick up from the ground level outside your apartment building. The drivers are not allowed to enter private residences or secured areas. Typically, our drivers are not allowed to go past the 2nd floor. Special accommodations can sometimes be made. Please call our Donor Service Team at 1-800-775-8387 to check the policies in your area.

Do you pick up at storage units?

Typically, we are only able to schedule donation pickups for residential properties, but special accommodations can sometimes be made. Please call our Donor Services Team at 1-800-775-8387 to check the policies in your area.

Can I drop off my donations? Where? What are the donation center hours?

Click here for a list of Donation Centers. Drop off hours are Monday – Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.

How do I re-schedule or cancel a donation pick up?

Are my donations tax deductible?

Your donations of clothing and household items are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. After we collect your donations on behalf of the charities that we support, the driver will leave you a signed & dated tax receipt at the time of donation pickup. You can complete the tax receipt based on the items you donated. The receipt is proof that we picked up a non cash donation from you. The donor is responsible for determining the value of their donations and listing them out accordingly.

I made a donation and I need a donation receipt. Can you send me one?

You can request a donation receipt using any of the following methods:

Where do my donations go?

Pickup Please coordinates your free donations on behalf of the charities that we support. The operators of Pickup Please then purchase your generous donations and the proceeds fund the charity's programs.
