Schedule a Donation Pickup in Hartford
Over the years the Vietnam Veterans of America have been committed to showing their support for the community of Hartford, Connecticut.
Chapter 120 of Hartford has been serving veterans for over 29 years. This chapter is dedicated to finding new ways to draw support for the amazing veterans who fought for our country. By keeping the community aware of important issues, they are able to further their efforts and programs. Chapter 120 members are known to personally fight for veterans who are struggling to get through the red tape of benefit claims such as compensation for Agent Orange victims. In order to honor those who served this country as well as the new generation of service men and women, the Hartford Chapter holds the annual dinner and dance fundraising event. They have also donated $1000 during the holiday seasons to families in need. The VVA works with the Hartford Vet Center in order to select well deserving families. Chapter 120 buys coats for each family member as well as at least one toy for each of the children. Working with the community, VVA members and students of the East Hartford Mayberry School gift wraps the coats and toys before they are delivered to the children and their families. Each year the chapter also joins the Hartford Community in honoring our veterans by taking part in the town’s Memorial Day Parade. Chapter 120 continues to work together with other VVA chapters to stay current on all local, state, and federal issues that affect our veterans.
