Each and every VVA Chapter in Maryland helps to make a difference in their communities. The VVA Maryland State Council pays tribute to veterans with weekend events such as LZ Maryland and The Honor Ride. Not only do they support the many local Maryland chapters, the VVA Maryland State Council also provides support for veterans on issues such as health, education, VA benefits, and much more.
Chapter 641 of Silver Springs, MD dedicates their time once a month to keep the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, aka “The Wall”, in Washington, DC clean and bright for the many visitors who come to remember the unsung heroes who fought for our country. Chapter members also participate and volunteer in local veteran events such as welcome home events, holiday gift giving, and winter assistance programs at the local VA Hospital. Chapter 172 of Cumberland, MD hosts events and meetings on important topics such as Agent Orange in addition to putting on their annual fishing outings for disabled veterans. Chapter 1091 of Ocean City, MD works with Veterans who are incarcerated to discuss veteran issues and provide moral support.
